Our Core Values

Worship

We believe that God created us to glorify and enjoy Him forever. The fall of man into sin distorted our original purpose, but God has redeemed the church from the world through the risen Christ as a new creation to fulfill that creational goal. This happens most prominently in our Worship when we gather together as the body of Christ. True Worship occurs when believers joyfully draw near to God, with their whole being, by Christ’s righteousness, guided by God’s Word to glorify him and enjoy fellowship with Him. The Word of God teaches us that the public gathering of God’s people is fundamental to the life of the Christian because it is in this context that God interacts with his people through His Word and Spirit. In our Worship, God speaks to us in the reading and preaching of his word and the administering of the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. In our Worship, we speak back to God in our singing, praying, and responding to his Word. Worship is central at Zion because we believe that it is in the gathering of God’s people on the Lord’s Day that we fellowship uniquely with our God .

Witness

We believe that the church is a community to whom God has given the mission of spreading his Worship throughout the world through the expansion of his church. The mission of the church is spiritual in nature. It is linked to the task of Christ her head – to seek and save the lost through the preaching of the gospel. At Zion, we desire to be vessels of God’s grace as we carry the message of Christ’s work to our neighbors in Fuquay-Varina, Holly Springs, Willow Spring, and beyond.

Walk

We believe that the church is the family of God and that Christians are brothers and sisters in Christ called to love and support one another after the pattern of Christ’s love for us. We, therefore, desire to Walk together in the grace of Christ, praying for one another, serving one another, bearing one another’s burdens, and encouraging one another’s faith and obedience to our heavenly Father. Our desire in all things is to bring glory to God by edifying his people so that we increasingly conform to the image of our savior Jesus and grow up into spiritual maturity.

Our Beliefs

Zion is a church committed to the Bible, the inerrant and infallible word of God, and the only rule of faith and practice for Christians. In other words, we are Bible people! In everything we do and teach, we seek to be faithful to the teaching of God’s Word. We worship the Triune God of the Bible. We preach the Biblical truth that Christ Jesus is the risen Son of God, who gave his life for sinners on the cross, and that there is no salvation outside of him. We desire to worship God according to the precepts of Scripture and live lives of faithful obedience to God’s Word as individuals and families.

We believe the Bible’s teachings are faithfully summarized by our confession of faith, known as the Westminster Confession, along with the Shorter and Larger Catechisms. Zion is a congregation of the Orthodox Presbyterian Church, a Presbyterian denomination dedicated to upholding the truth of God’s Word.
